Mayor Walter C. Porter Sr. is serving his second term as the Mayor of Epes. Mayor Porter is a home-grown life long
resident of Epes, who was raised and educated here. Mayor Porter wasn’t a politician, but someone who is motivated by
community and public service. It was because of his Leader-
ship qualities that he was urged and accepted the challenge of running for and winning the Office of Mayor for the
Town of Epes. Mayor Porter has always given back to his Hometown by actively participating in his church, community, and his
humanitarian efforts. Mayor Porter says his prime mission is to assist in making a brighter tomorrow for all the youth. His
love for the children is displayed in the many Youth Programs that he's currently involved with and other Youth
Programs that are being deve-
loped for Epes and the surrounding areas.
